Director of ARDA , Frida Krifca, participated in the 45th Conference of Directors of European Union Paying Agencies organized by the Romanian Presidency of the Council of European Union in Bucharest. This conference takes place twice a year, organized by the presidency of the EU Council. ARDA, already accredited to implement IPARD program, attends this conference for the second time.
The first day of conference proceedings focuses on sustainable use of natural resources, the effective management of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the key role that Paying Agencies have in implementing CAP, and the impact their work has on creating a new CAP to be launched after 2020. Special attention was given to the need for new knowledge in agriculture and rural development, digitalisation, strengthening of procedures in terms of conflict of interest and the need for continued performance in compliance with procedures for the allocation of funds, as well as continuous monitoring for reducing the risk of implementation errors.
Focus,on the second daywas on the use of geo-satellite applications for administration of preliminary controls, using the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS). Impact of Rural Development in the European context, the use of new technologies for effective monitoring as well as the usefulness of inter-institutional cooperation to prevent fraud.
