The 3rd Meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the IPARD III Programme was held. This committee plays a key role in overseeing the implementation of the programme and operates in accordance with the Framework Financial Partnership Agreement and the Sectoral Agreement. Meetings are organized at least twice a year and are chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The meeting was attended by members of the Monitoring Committee representing various interest groups, agricultural sector associations, economic, social, and environmental partners, as well as representatives from line ministries, IPARD structures, the European Commission, the EU Delegation to Albania, and international donors.
The meeting took place just a few days after the opening of the final chapter of negotiations with the European Union, on 17 November, highlighting Albania’s steady progress in agriculture, rural development, food security, and fisheries. During the discussions, preparations for the new support measures to be implemented under the IPARD III Programme were emphasized.
The IPARD Programme aims to support the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and rural areas in the country, contributing to improved living standards, fostering economic development, and enhancing the competitiveness of sectors for the European Union market.
