The second meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the IPARD III Programme (2021–2027) was held today. This committee plays a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the programme and operates in accordance with the Framework Partnership Financial Agreement and the Sectoral Agreement. Meetings are held at least twice a year and are chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The meeting was attended by members of the Monitoring Committee representing various interest groups, including agricultural sector associations, economic, social, and environmental partners, as well as representatives from other relevant ministries, IPARD structures, the European Commission, the EU Delegation to Albania, and international donors.
During the meeting, participants were informed about:
• The status of IPARD Programme implementation in beneficiary countries;
• The functioning of the management and control systems of the IPARD structures;
• Progress in inspections and audits carried out;
• The closure of the IPARD II Programme and the steps for implementing the Action Plan;
• The Final Implementation Report of IPARD II (2014–2024) and the Annual Report for 2024;
• Preparations for the new IPARD III measures;
• Progress of the ex-post evaluation of the IPARD Programme;
• The implementation of the Technical Assistance Measure for 2025.
The IPARD Programme aims to support the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and rural areas in Albania by improving living standards, fostering economic growth, and preparing sectors for integration into the competitive market of the European Union.
